About Garceau Maple

Greg & Julie Garceau live on the outskirts of St. Albans, Vermont, where they have an 8,000 tap, 200+ acre sugarbush. They're first generation maple syrup producers on a property that's been in the family for over 100 years. Greg has lived here his whole life and loves spending time in the woods, so making maple syrup seemed like a natural next step for the family farm.

Greg works the sugarbush 365 days a year, doing everything from tapping trees and setting up lines to cutting firewood and building anything needed to make sugaring more efficient. Julie works in the sugarhouse, helping with the boiling and doing all the bottling of finished syrup into jugs. She also makes creamy maple candy, maple cream, and maple cotton candy.

Maple & Candies

A SWEET & RICH FLAVOR

We take pride in our maple candies. You will find that ours are creamier than other maple candy, which are sometimes crystallized and hard to chew. We make sure our maple candies are creamy inside and out. We also have a great selection of maple syrup that's perfect for sweetening up your breakfast. Combine this sweet, caramel-like topping with any recipe as well. We have provided some maple recipes that will enhance the taste of any treat! Don't forget to try our decadent maple cream; with its creamy and velvety texture, it is the perfect spread for toast, donuts, cookies & muffins.

The Process

Vermont Maple Syrup

We start out by picking the perfect trees during tapping season. Before this season, we make sure we're prepared ahead of time and know the right time when to start extracting the sap. After collecting and processing the sap, we filter, grade, and package our delicious pure Vermont maple syrup.

Spout Tool

Customizable Size

This tool is made so that you can easily attach spouts to your tubing. Simply put the spout into this tool, easily push the tubing on to the spout, and pull the spout out of the tool. It's so much easier than just using your fingers!

We also offer a customizable option for the spout tool. Currently, Greg makes this spout tool for the CDL signature spouts in  5/16” and 1/4" sizes. He can make this affordable tool to fit any spout.

If you're interested in learning more about this handy tool, please contact us to purchase or visit us at our sugar house in St. Albans.

Recycling & Reusing

Bring Your Own Jugs

If you want to visit us on a night that we are boiling, you are welcome to bring an empty jug with a lid, and we will fill it with fresh syrup! Since it will be your own container, it won't be more than about .25 cents an ounce.

Example:  1 gallons is 128 oz. x 25 cents = $32.00

This serves 2 purposes: recycling and re-using containers, and saving you lots of money on our pure Vermont maple syrup!

We also like to reuse customers' maple jugs. If you need more syrup, bring your old container for a refill, and I will give a small discount for recycling (as long as it is a CDL container).

Some people also drop their empty jugs on our porch so that we can reuse them - we appreciate it!
